Pitched roofing is a vital skill in today’s construction industry, and demand for trained roofers continues to grow. This two-week accredited course gives learners the hands-on training and site-ready experience needed to take their first steps into roofing.
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to build on existing skills, this course offers a strong foundation in the most commonly used roofing systems across domestic and commercial projects.
What the Course Covers
Learners will gain practical experience with a wide range of pitched roofing systems and techniques, including:

Concrete interlocking tiles

Plain tiles
-
Natural slates
-
Dry-fix and wet-fix methods
-
Underlays and battens
-
Ventilation products
Installation is taught to current industry standards and includes both traditional sand and cement detailing and modern dry-fix systems.
Course Format

Length: 2 weeks

Group size: Up to 10 learners

Location: Delivered inside HMPs, job centres, or at community and employer sites

Assessment: Practical exercises, tutor observation and module-based written knowledge checks

Support available: PPE provided, financial assistance where eligible, Employment Broker interviews during course
Outcomes
At the end of the course, learners will:

Demonstrate safe working practices on site
