Our Working at Heights Course teaches learners how to safely work on flat, pitched, and fragile roofs. This course covers fall prevention, safe access systems, and other critical safety techniques needed to perform work at heights confidently and safely.

Whether you are working in construction, maintenance, or any other industry involving heights, this course will equip you with the necessary knowledge and practical skills to ensure your safety and compliance with industry standards.

What the Course Covers

Learners will gain essential knowledge and hands-on experience in the following areas:

  • Key Risks of Working at Heights: Understand the hazards and how to mitigate risks when working at various heights.

  • Fall Prevention Techniques: Learn safe practices and equipment to prevent falls, including harnesses, guardrails, and safety nets.

  • Safe Access Systems: Gain the skills to safely use ladders, scaffolding, and other access equipment.

  • Flat, Pitched, and Fragile Roofs: Explore safety measures for working on different types of roofs and surfaces.

  • Health and Safety Legislation: Familiarize yourself with regulations and best practices for safe work at heights.

Course Format

  • Length: 1 day (or customisable based on needs)

  • Group size: Up to 10 learners

  • Location: Delivered inside HMPs, job centres, or at community and employer sites

  • Assessment: Practical exercises, tutor observation and module-based written knowledge checks

  • Support available: PPE provided, financial assistance where eligible, Employment Broker interviews during course

At the end of the course, learners will:
