Funding Secured: 'Skills for Success' Set to Launch in Lowestoft

We are excited to announce that the ‘Skills for Success’ programme has officially secured funding to support individuals on probation in building careers in the construction industry.

This impactful initiative is delivered by GLA Group in partnership with MENTA, with backing from the Suffolk Police and Crime Commissioner, the Probation Service and East Suffolk Council. Together, we are working to open doors for people who face barriers to employment — offering practical training, recognised qualifications and clear routes into sustainable work or self-employment.

Starting 24th March at The Kirkley Centre in Lowestoft, the programme includes:

• Construction and Labouring Skills Workshops

• CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Course and Test

• Self-Employment and Business Start-Up Training

Participants will gain hands-on experience and complete industry-recognised training designed to help them move directly into construction roles or explore the option of starting their own business.
